Angela Hart's Drums
In 2014 Angela Hart was invited to apprentice with an Apache drum maker in New Mexico. She spent several days in the home of this woman learning how to make traditional apache drums and has loved making drums ever since. She is also available for drum making workshops in your area.
Each drum is smudged before, during, and after they are made with prayers for the drum & the new drum owner. The making of each drum is a ceremony as was done traditionally to invoke good intentions and good medicine into the drum.
When striking the drum, notice the toning sounds that come from these specially made drums. Each drum has its own ring tone, very similar to a singing bowl, as well as the deep, rich drum sound that bursts forth.
